Seminar Outline Silos, hoppers, and feeders are some of the most troublesome areas in bulk solids handling. This seminar aims to provide a basic comprehension of problems and pitfalls facing the designer or purchaser of a storage system, and to outline strategies to ensure successful storage system installation. This seminar will not create "instant experts;" however, you will learn about common flow problems like arching, ratholing, segregation [220K QuickTime video], and the importance of flow properties in the successful design of bins. Additionally, practical guidelines will be provided for the design of stockpiles, chutes, and belt and screw feeders.
