BULK SOLIDS TESTING, POWDER FLOWABILITY, PNEUMATIC CONVEYING TESTING, and PHYSICAL MODELING
To ensure reliable handling and processing of bulk materials, equipment and system designs must be based on relevant powder flowability measured at process conditions. In our fully equipped laboratories, we routinely conduct bench-scale flow and particle properties testing, pneumatic conveying testing, and model novel processes and equipment. In 50 years of business, we have performed bulk solids testing on over 10,000 materials.
Bench-scale tests
Powder flowability and bulk solids testing can be conducted on relatively small quantities of materials – sometime as little as several liters – to reliably design large and complex handling systems. Common tests include:
Pneumatic conveying tests
We routinely conduct tests in our fully customizable, highly-instrumented pneumatic conveying testing loop to determine critical operating parameters. Tests include:

Conveying characteristics
Conveyability

|
Attrition or particle damage
Wear (pipeline erosion)

Physical modeling of process or equipment
While standard bulk solids testing is typically sufficient as a design basis, some unique materials and/or novel applications may require physical modeling. We can model all or part of a process in our high-bay modeling and prototyping facility. Typical applications include:

Pilot-scale systems
High accuracy micro-feeding
Pneumatic conveying testing |

Proof-of-concept models
Flow visualization experiments
